The Ahmedabad-based electric mobility startup, Avore Electric, has launched the first-ever electric motorcycle in India, bringing its EX Series to the market. The new range consists of three models: EX1, EX2 and EX2S, to suit various riding requirements and budgets. According to the company, the maximum range is up to 260 km with a single charge, and the EX2S is one of the longest range electric motorcycles in its class.
The Avore EX1 comes in for an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹1,24,999, the EX2 is priced at ₹1,49,999, and the flagship EX2S offers a price of ₹1,69,999. These launch prices will apply to the first 10,000 customers, and then will be raised by approximately ₹10,000. Now bookings are open with a token amount of ₹799; customer delivery is estimated to start within two months.
Avore EX1
The EX1 is equipped with a 3.24 kWh battery pack and a 10.5 kW electric motor. The motorcycle can reach a top speed of 100 km/h and has a range of up to 160 km on a single charge, according to Avore. The bike also features four riding modes, accelerates from 0-40 km in 3.2 seconds and is equipped with a 750W charger.
Avore EX2
The mid-spec EX2 is also equipped with a bigger 5.0 kWh battery, adding up to the quoted driving range of 255 km. It's got a top speed of 100 kmph and a 1500W onboard charger that can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about two hours. The ride of the motorcycle is targeted at people who want to go farther each day without sacrificing performance.
Avore EX2S
The flagship EX2S is the most full-featured motorcycle in the family. It shares the same 5.0 kWh battery with the original model, but has a claimed range of 260 km and a top speed of 114 km/h. The motorcycle's top-to-bottom performance makes it the most performance-oriented model in the EX Series, accelerating from 0-40 km/h in 2.8 seconds, and equipped with five riding modes.
But one of the best features of EX2S is its one-of-a-kind Horn Score function. The motorcycle monitors the number of times the rider uses the horn and produces a riding score to promote safe riding habits and an overall decrease in unnecessary noise pollution. The feature also offers monthly riding insights via the riding companion mobile application.
Features and Technology
These three motorcycles are all on the street-bike design side, with LED lights and connected technology. The variant offers a 7-inch TFT display with touch control, smartphone connectivity, OTA updates, different riding modes, reverse mode, fast charging, and advanced battery management systems for the buyers. Avore claims the motorcycles are constructed with several technologies developed in-house to make them more efficient, safe and powerful.
The EX Series has been three years in the research, development and testing, the company says. Avore is also working on several key EV systems that will be developed in-house, including the battery management system, motor controller, display software and operating system, as well as filing more than 120 intellectual property applications.
