Hero Xtreme 160R 4V Launched in India

Hero MotoCorp rolls out a complete update on its sporty 160cc motorcycle range: the Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is the updated version of the motorcycle. The new model, which was introduced at an introductory price of ₹1.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), has been given a more angular design, improved electronics, more rider-friendly features, and a new variant lineup. The motorcycle features new additions such as cruise control, ride-by-wire power steering, and a colour TFT instrument display, which are designed to give the motorcycle a boost in the crowded high-end commuter market.

The new Xtreme 160R 4V now comes in three different versions: Standard, Pro and Carbon. The Standard variant starts at ₹1.27 lakh and the Pro and Carbon variants are priced at ₹1.37 lakh and ₹1.41 lakh, respectively. Bookings for the Pro and Carbon variants opened on 17th October 2026, and deliveries will commence from 1st November 2026. The Standard variant is expected to be available for customers from January 2027.

The Xtreme 160R 4V gets a new look with sharper styling

The new Xtreme 160R 4V is going through major design changes, and Hero MotoCorp has introduced its new Cybersharp design language. The new motorcycle comes with new motorcycle fuel tank shrouds, new body panels and a new more streetfighter body shape. The changes enhance its visual identity, but keep the compact size of the Xtreme series.

The lighting package has also been improved. It's equipped with an LED headlamp with a projector high beam, an ambient light sensor and unique H-shaped day running lights. The back is now outfitted with an H-shaped LED tail lamp with full LED indicators.

The new fuel tank has been designed to aid in rider comfort and improve knee grip, whilst the redesigned seat and rider ergonomics will make all-day rides more comfortable. Hero has also come up with new colour variants of the three variants, which will give the customer the option to choose the colour of the model.

The Standard version comes in Firestorm Red and Pearl Black. The Pro is offered in Pro Red and Pro Black, and the highest-spec Carbon in Carbon Red, Carbon Black, Carbon Grey and Abrax Orange.

Specifically designed to deliver Horsepower and Torque

The new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V is a 164.32cc, single-cylinder, oil-cooled, four-valve engine. The motor boasts about 17.1 PS of peak power at 8,750 rpm and 14.6 Nm of peak torque at 6,500 rpm.

The motorbike remains focused on providing a thrilling, active riding experience for city commuters and sport lovers who want to ride a motorcycle for everyday use. The motorbike also boasts a 0–60 kmph time of 4.4 seconds, which is a testament to its rapid acceleration in urban settings.

The engine configuration is unchanged, but the new engine has been enhanced with updated electronic controls and new features. The additions are designed to enhance the motorcycle's street-oriented nature while still providing a better ride.

For some routine maintenance activities, one practical ownership improvement is the longer service interval. The reported launch details state that owners will be able to enjoy more convenient scheduled maintenance, as engine oil and tappet replacement are not necessary until the 6,000 km mark.

New electronics feature Ride Modes and Cruise Control

The Xtreme 160R 4V has a lot of great new technology. The other variants, Pro and Carbon, will get ride-by-wire electronic throttle control, which offers three riding modes: Rain, Road and Sport. These modes are for the rider to adjust the way a motorcycle reacts to various riding situations.

Another extra feature worth mentioning is cruise control – something not often seen on motorcycles in this size class. It may assist riders in keeping a selected speed on roads that are appropriate and open, lessening the necessity to constantly control the throttle.

The Carbon variant has a 4.2-inch colour TFT instrument display, which is one step ahead of the technology delivery package. The display shows important riding data like gear position, riding mode, cruise-control mode, shift advice, distance to empty and real-time fuel consumption. The Bluetooth connection provides additional features including call and message alerts, music controls, phone battery status and turn-by-turn navigation.

The Standard variant features a simpler LCD screen and mechanical throttle, whereas the Pro variant has a multicolour LCD instrument console. This difference allows the buyer to select between a base entry-level bike and higher models that can have more electronic options.

Other extras like illuminated switchgear, hazard lights, a type-C charging port and five-step adjustable brake and clutch levers on the suitably equipped higher trims have also been added as a convenience.

It provides suspension, braking, and safety features

Hero MotoCorp has also modified the variants in terms of suspension and braking system. The Standard's front forks are standard telescopic,c and it is fitted with single-channel ABS. The Pro and Carbon models are equipped with a 37mm KYB upside-down front fork, a rear monoshock, adjustable preload and dual-channel ABS.

A 276mm front petal disc and 220mm rear disc will perform the braking. The bike also has Panic Brake Alert to activate warning lights if the rider brakes suddenly and hard, warning traffic coming from behind.

The features are designed to boost the rider's confidence, especially when tackling varying road conditions and emergency braking. The enhanced suspension equipment on these higher-spec models is likely to be attractive to those who value handling and a higher-quality ride.

The new ergonomics and extended seat are also factors to take into account when it comes to day-to-day use. The comfort and suspension performance will of course vary depending on road conditions, rider and selected variant.

Price, Availability and Rivals

The new Hero Xtreme 160R 4V comes in at an ex-showroom price in the range of ₹1.27 lakh to ₹1.41 lakh (Delhi) and goes to a segment where styling, performance and equipment are important considerations for purchase.

The motorcycle is in competition with established motorcycles like the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and Bajaj Pulsar NS160. It's a four-valve powerplant, sportier than usual and has modern electronics, allowing Hero to appeal to younger buyers who aren't just interested in commuting.

Booking of the trip started on 17th October 2026 via Hero MotoCorp sales network. The motorcycle will be available at the regular Hero outlets as well as Hero Premia outlets.

Conclusion

The updated Hero Xtreme 160R 4V represents a substantial evolution of Hero MotoCorp's sporty 160cc motorcycle. Its revised design, three-variant lineup and expanded technology package make it a more compelling proposition for riders seeking a modern streetfighter.

While the Standard variant focuses on accessibility, the Pro and Carbon versions offer more advanced suspension, electronic riding aids and improved instrumentation. The addition of cruise control and a TFT display further distinguishes the higher variants in this competitive category.

Ultimately, the updated Xtreme 160R 4V combines everyday practicality with a more premium feature set. Its market performance will depend on how buyers respond to the revised pricing, the usefulness of its new technology and its real-world performance against established rivals.
