Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gorkha Edition has been launched in India at an introductory price of ₹2,10,684 (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The new special edition is based on the already available Classic 350 and has been launched as a tribute to the legacy, courage and resilience of the Gorkha Regiment of the Indian Army. The motorcycle has now been sold across India.
The new Gorkha Edition is based on the familiar Classic 350 design, but features a unique colour scheme and special design elements inspired by the Gorkha Regiment.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is now available in a Gorkha Green Colour
The most significant visual difference with this new Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is the new colour scheme, Gorkha Green. Overall, the motorcycle's design is inspired by military aesthetics, with a shade that adds a touch of coolness and uniqueness to the Classic 350's retro appeal.
Instead, in some places on the motorcycle, the usual branding elements have been replaced with a bespoke emblem consisting of the icon of the crossed Khukris. The design should be informative of the heritage and traditions of the Gorkha Regiment.
Otherwise, the motorcycle's riding posture and general shape are those of the Classic 350s.
Same Legendary 349cc Engine
In terms of the bike's mechanical design, the Royal Enfield Classic 350 Gorkha Edition is essentially the same as the standard bike.
It is driven by the familiar 349cc, single-cylinder J-series engine, which generates approximately 20.1 bhp of power and 27 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes with a 5-speed transmission.
It is, therefore, a special edition more about style than performance: the Gorkha Edition.
Addition of Assist and Slipper Clutch
While there are no major mechanical changes, Royal Enfield has equipped the Gorkha Edition with an Assist & Slipper clutch.
The system aims to enhance clutch operation smoothness and also aids in minimising rear-wheel hop during harsh downshifts.
Also new is the addition of a Type-C USB fast-charging port, providing additional rider convenience for charging smartphones or compatible devices while on the go.
Royal Enfield Gorkha Collection Also Introduced
In addition to the motorcycle, Royal Enfield has also launched a dedicated Gorkha Collection to include riding gear, apparel and lifestyle products.
It features dual-certified Jet and Quest helmets, high-ankle leather boots, multifunctional helmets, lifestyle apparel and collectables.
The designs include elements inspired by military uniforms, crossed khukris, and regimental insignia.
