New Delhi: Maruti Suzuki has got a major shot in the arm before the launch of the refreshed 2026 Brezza as the compact SUV has scored a 5-star rating in the latest Bharat NCAP crash test. In the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and Child Occupant Protection (COP) categories, the new Brezza scored the highest and thus was one of the safest SUVs in its class.
The official Bharat NCAP results indicate that the 2026 Maruti Brezza has a 30.41-point adult occupant protection rating and a 43-point child occupant protection rating. In both frontal and side impact crash tests, the SUV was outstanding, and in the side pole impact test, it was compliant with the standards.
The new safety rating is for all variants of the revised Brezza, for the available powertrain. With this accomplishment, Maruti Suzuki's commitment towards boosting vehicle safety has further solidified the brand's efforts in the segment over the past few years, which has been a major concern for Indian car buyers.
The Bharat NCAP assessment pointed out the good body structure and occupant protection performance of the Brezza. The SUV received all of the marks possible in the child safety evaluation for Child Restraint System (CRS) dynamic performance and installation, demonstrating its commitment to passenger safety for families.
The 2026 Maruti Brezza will take to the road soon after the crash test results. The refreshed model will also come with a host of safety upgrades, as well as new exterior styling, a higher standard of cabin air quality, new connected technology and convenience. It is also rumoured that Maruti Suzuki may offer a turbo-petrol engine choice in addition to the existing lineup, which will be revealed when the car is unveiled.
The Brezza's 5-star rating brings it into the ranks of the other 5-star-rated cars and bikes in India, and adds to the competition in the compact SUV space. In the past, all the rivals of the Mahindra XUV 4XO have been working on enhancing the safety aspect providing an all-important reason why safety ratings are a significant consideration for buyers.
The new Bharat NCAP rating is likely to further enhance the Brezza's position in the market for compact SUVs that offer high safety, fuel efficiency and state-of-the-art technology. The 2026 Maruti Brezza is already in a strong position due to its high 5-star rating in crash safety.
