Maruti Suzuki is said to be preparing a facelift of one of the best-selling compact SUVs, ‘Brezza'. The company has yet to officially announce the new model, but industry reports indicate that the new Brezza may be provided with major design overhauls, some new technology and advanced safety features to stay competitive in the competitive sub-4 metre SUV market.

The refreshed Brezza will be similar to the Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq.

The exterior design is expected to be refreshed

The Brezza Facelift is expected to be a more modern design, but with the same boxy SUV silhouette.

Outdoor improvements planned include:

  • New front grill with a unique mesh pattern.
  • New LED headlights and redesigned DRLs for sharper lighting.
  • New front and rear bumpers.
  • New LED taillights with link lighting elements
  • Fresh alloy wheel designs in a dual-tone finish.
  • New exterior colour options are available.
  • The styling tweaks will bring a more premium and rugged look to the SUV.
  • Feature-rich Cabin May be Majorly Upgraded

Within the cabin, Maruti Suzuki is set to unveil some technology enhancements.

Expected features include:

  • Larger touchscreen infotainment system
  • A 100% digital instrument panel.
  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
  • 360-degree camera
  • Wireless smartphone charger
  • Ventilated front seats
  • Larger electric sunroof
  • Connected car technology
  • High-quality upholstery and soft-touch dashboard fabrics.
  • The facelift should also enhance the cabin quality and comfort.
  • ADAS can make its debut.

One of the major changes expected is the addition of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) of level 2 on the most powerful models.

Possible ADAS functions could include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Forward Collision Warning
  • High Beam Assist

The Brezza would be one of the rare compact SUVs available in its class to include ADAS.

Hybrid Powertrain is being considered

The new version of the Brezza is likely to be powered by the same 1.5-litre K-Series petrol engine as the previous model, and will retain the choice of manual and automatic transmission.

Maruti Suzuki may also be planning on a powerful hybrid powertrain on select variants to make them more fuel efficient and eco-friendly, it is reported. The hybrid version, if put into production, may offer much improved fuel economy when compared to the standard version.

A CNG variant is also rumoured to be included in the lineup

Expected Launch Timeline

Maruti Suzuki has yet to officially announce the Brezza Facelift. According to industry speculations, however, the updated SUV may go on sale in 2027, after a slew of new Maruti models have been introduced.

More details will be provided nearer the official release.

On the rampage, the facelifted Brezza will take on more rivals, including:

  • Tata Nexon
  • Hyundai Venue
  • Kia Sonet
  • Mahindra XUV 3XO
  • Skoda Kylaq
  • Renault Kiger
  • Nissan Magnite

Conclusion

Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift is anticipated to include significant improvements in terms of design, technology, safety and efficiency. The revamped SUV might help Maruti Suzuki consolidate its position in the competitive compact SUV market with the inclusion of ADAS, a revamped cabin and a hybrid powertrain.
