Skoda Slavia Facelift

Skoda Auto India has all the preparations ready to market the Skoda Slavia Facelift on August 18, 2026. The new midsize sedan will be furnished with a few cosmetic improvements, new technology and a major mechanical modification–migration of the 1.0-litre TSI engine to an 8-speed automatic.

The facelift is designed to further establish Slavia's presence in the competitive midsize sedan market, where it will compete with the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.

Superior Exterior Design

The new Skoda Slavia will be more visually appealing and modern, based on Skoda's new and updated design language for the world.

The following are anticipated exterior changes:

  • A new front grille with built-in lighting.
  • New LED headlamps, with a different signature.
  • New LED tail lamps
  • New bumpers at the front and rear.
  • New alloy wheel style.
  • These changes will most likely make Slavia a more aggressive and elegant road presence.
  • The interior will receive a few extra touch-ups and whistles.

The overall dashboard design will probably stay as it is, but Skoda has likely a number of feature enhancements.

Interior highlights to be expected include:

  • A bigger 10.25-inch Digital Driver's Display
  • Updated seat upholstery
  • Front parking sensors
  • Premium cabin finish

It is also said that Skoda may be adding a rear-seat massage function like the one recently added to the facelifted Kushaq, but it is yet to be announced.

Existing Features to Continue

The majority of the premium features offered in the current model are likely to remain the same as follows:

  • A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is used.
  • Wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay
  • Single-pane electric sunroof
  • Wireless phone charger
  • All climate control is automatic, including rear AC vents.
  • 8-speaker audio system
  • Six airbags
  • Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
  • It is expected that there is a new 8-speed automatic gearbox.

A new 8-speed automatic might be one of the biggest new features in the facelift, for the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine.

The existing 6-speed torque-converter automatic is likely to be upgraded to the new 8-speed automatic that has recently been launched in the facelifted Kushaq.

The engines are probably going to stay the same:

  • 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol
  • 115 HP
  • New 8-speed automatic anticipated.
  • The manual would most probably remain.
  • 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol
  • 150 HP
  • 7-speed DSG automatic

Manual shift will be expected to remain. Expect the manual transmission to be in place.

This transmission upgrade may enhance both driving comfort and fuel economy.

Expected Price

The price of the current model of Skoda Slavia is in the range of ₹10 lakh to ₹18.19 lakh (ex-showroom).

The facelifted version will likely be priced slightly higher in the first year, due to the added features and mechanical enhancements.

Competition

The new Skoda Slavia will continue to compete in the mid-size sedan segment with:

  • Volkswagen Virtus
  • Hyundai Verna
  • Honda City

Conclusion

The Skoda Slavia Facelift is poised to be a significant facelift, not a full redesign. The sedan, which is expected to have an 8-speed automatic transmission for the 1.0 TSI engine, is likely to turn into an even better proposition in India's midsize sedan segment with its new styling, the quality of its interior and added enhancements. All official specifications, features and prices will be announced at the time of its launch on August 18, 2026.
