Skoda Slavia Facelift Launched with Amazing Features
Skoda Auto India has introduced the facelifted Slavia in India at a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model sedan features an all-new design, a new automatic transmission choice and more features, but the turbo-petrol engine range remains unchanged.
Skoda Slavia facelift will come in six variants – Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo. The most equipped Monte Carlo variant is available for ₹18.84 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new 8-speed automatic system has been installed in the Skoda Slavia Facelift.
One of the biggest changes to the updated Slavia is the introduction of an 8-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine. The engine still has 116 PS (115 bhp) and 178 Nm of torque, and is also available with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine is still available with the 7-speed DSG automatic and delivers increased power and torque of approximately 150 PS and 250 Nm.
Updated Exterior Design
The Slavia facelift preserves its recognisable proportions and makes subtle changes to the styling. It has new LED headlamps and new LED taillights with sequential turn indicators.
Other exterior modifications feature a new horizontal chrome strip mounted across the front grille, front and rear sections and new alloy wheel designs. For the Monte Carlo version, some exterior black parts and red trim have been added for a sportier look.
Higher Features and Technology
Skoda has also armed the Slavia. Among the new features are a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors and a larger digital instrument cluster on top trims.
The rear-seat massage feature has also been added as a feature that performs on the rear seats of the car, a segment-first feature. Higher variants get ventilated and electrically adjustable front seats, while the infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
Also among the changes is an AI-powered voice assistant with Google's Gemini technology, powered by Google Cloud. It can help you with music, calls, climate control, voice commands, etc.
Safety Features
The new Slavia retains its 5-star overall Global NCAP safety rating and now has six airbags as standard. The sedan also has a variety of active and passive safety equipment options, with higher versions getting a larger safety suite.
Skoda Slavia Facelift Price
The new Slavia is offered in the price range of ₹9.99 lakh to ₹18.84 lakh (ex-showroom) depending on the variant and powertrain.
The starting price is for the 1.0 TSI Classic manual, and the 1.0 TSI automatic begins at the Classic+ option at ₹12.49 lakh. It is only offered in the higher variants of the model, the 1.5 TSI DSG.
Conclusion
With a starting price of ₹9.99 lakh, the new Skoda Slavia sedan gets a facelift with new styling, tech and comfort. One of the biggest upgrades is the new 8-speed automatic on the 1.0 TSI; other cool features include the 360-degree camera and rear-seat massage, which make it easy to manoeuvre around the rear of the car.
The facelift is still a contender in the midsize sedan segment in India against the likes of the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City.
